New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Deepke has been released from police custody. The Special Executive Magistrate Court has granted him bail after making him sign a bond to maintain peace. Deepke had called for 'Lehra Do Tiranga' demonstration at Connaught Place. In view of this, Delhi Police took him into custody as a precautionary measure. On Friday, when he was trying to reach Connaught Place, he was stopped. According to the police, he was arrested for disturbing peace under sections 126 and 170 of the BNSS. After appearing in court on Saturday, he was released on conditional bail.

Jail experience told in Veer-Zara style

As soon as he came out of custody, Deepke shared his experience in a filmy style on social media platform X. While posting a scene from Shahrukh Khan's film Veer-Zaara, he wrote, "How does it feel to come out after spending 24 hours in jail without WiFi, without phone?" Let us tell you that in the film, Shahrukh's character comes out after spending 20 years in Pakistani jail. After release, Deepke reached the residence of NCP (SCP) spokesperson Anish Pandey.

Two CJP leaders are already in jail

According to police sources, two other CJP leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka are already in jail in a case of breach of peace. Deepke had announced a demonstration in his support at Connaught Place, but due to the alertness of the police, the workers were taken into custody even before the demonstration could begin. After this the situation remained normal in Connaught Place.

Reaction of opposition leaders

Till late night many opposition leaders posted in support of Deepke and Neha Bora. However, most of the leaders of the INDIA block maintained distance from taking Deepke's name directly. Those who openly supported included former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, former West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and former Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin.
