Effective home remedies to remove bad smell

Baking Soda and Vinegar: Add half a cup of baking soda to the washing machine drum and run a cycle with hot water. After this, add a cup of white vinegar to the detergent tray and run the hot water cycle once again. This method will completely eliminate the fungus and bad smell inside the machine.

lemon juice: Lemon is a natural deodorizer and antibacterial. For this, extract the juice of 3-4 lemons and apply it on the inner part of the drum and the rubber gasket with the help of a sponge. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and then wash off with plain water. This will maintain the fresh lemon like scent in the machine.

Use of bleach: If the odor is severe, add one cup of chlorine bleach to a drum full of water and run a normal wash cycle. Make sure there are no clothes in the machine during this process. Bleach instantly destroys all types of bacteria and fungus.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser tray: Detergent and softener deposits are often the main cause of odor. Remove the tray and clean it thoroughly with hot water and an old toothbrush. Apply it back only after it dries.
