India's strong performance continues on the 13th day of the Asian Games 2026. India's strong player Parveen Hooda has performed brilliantly in boxing and won the gold medal for India. Parveen defeated the Chinese Taipei boxer 3-2 in a split decision in the final. She won gold by defeating her Olympic medalist opponent in the final match of women's 65 kg category. With this, India has got its second gold medal in boxing.
Earlier, Lovlina Borgohain won the gold medal in the women's 75kg boxing event, defeating Bao Jiayi of China by a unanimous 5-0 decision. Till now it has won 75 medals including 15 gold, 25 silver and 35 bronze. About 500 Indian athletes are challenging for medals in the Asian Games 2026 being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
At the same time, Indian boxer Ankush Panghal has won the gold medal by defeating South Korea's Kim Minseong 4-0 in the 80 kg category. Ankush Panghal had defeated current 75 kg world champion Fazliddin Erkinboev of Uzbekistan 4-1 in the semi-finals.
Apart from this, Indian wrestler Sujit Kalkal won the gold medal by defeating Tajikistan's Abdulmajid Kudiev 10-9 in the men's 65 kg freestyle wrestling final. Sujit Kalkal had earlier defeated Olympic champion Kotara Kiyooka 3-3 to reach the final of the men's 65kg category at the Asian Games.
So far, India has won 75 medals, which include 15 gold, 25 silver and 35 bronze. With these two gold medals, India has reached fifth place in the medal tally after China, Japan, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
