Many wonderful schemes are being run by the Central Government to provide complete security to the farmers of the country along with farming and financial security. The benefits of all these government schemes are given keeping in mind the different needs of the farmers. Under some schemes, money is sent directly to the bank account, while in some schemes, fixed arrangements have been made for pension every month for old age. Apart from this, easy loan facility is also provided from the bank for seeds, fertilizers, irrigation and other expenses for farming. These major schemes include excellent schemes like PM Kisan, PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana and Kisan Credit Card (KCC). However, many times due to lack of correct information, many farmers miss out on taking advantage of these schemes.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana i.e. PM Kisan is counted among the biggest schemes of the Central Government which provides direct financial assistance to the farmers of the country. Under this scheme, full financial assistance of Rs 6,000 is given every year to all the eligible landholding farmers of the country. This entire amount is not received at once, rather the government transfers it directly into the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. That means, Rs 2,000-2,000 comes into the accounts of farmers three times a year.
Farmers can use this money received from PM Kisan Yojana to meet their minor needs to farming. Apart from seeds, fertilizers or other agricultural expenses, this money is also very useful for the household needs of the family. The main objective of this scheme is to provide additional financial support to the eligible farmers for their farming and household needs.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana has been specially launched to provide a strong financial support to the old age farmers. Under this scheme, there is a provision to get a fixed pension of Rs 3,000 every month to the eligible farmer after he completes 60 years of age. This scheme has been specially designed keeping in mind the small and marginal farmers of the country.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the age of the farmer should be between 18 to 40 years. Apart from this, there should be a maximum of 2 hectares of cultivable land in the name of the farmer. After joining this scheme, the farmer has to deposit a small amount as premium every month according to his age. In this, farmers have to deposit Rs 55 to Rs 200 every month, and then after the age of 60, they start getting a regular income of Rs 3,000 every month in old age.
During farming, farmers are often in dire need of a large amount of money all of a sudden. It becomes difficult to arrange money to buy seeds, apply fertilizers, irrigate, bring pesticides or pay laborers. In such times, Kisan Credit Card i.e. KCC scheme proves to be of greatest help. Through this, eligible farmers can easily take loans from banks for their farming and other works.
Kisan Credit Card is not only used for growing crops, but people doing other supporting work to farming also get loan through it. It mainly includes activities like animal husbandry, dairy, poultry and fisheries. Banks decide the loan limit considering the farmer's land, crop pattern and his financial needs. Under this, eligible farmers can get a loan up to Rs 5 lakh, which helps a lot in getting rid of the debt trap of moneylenders.
The most special thing about all these three schemes is that the objective and functioning of all three are completely different. While PM Kisan Samman Nidhi provides direct financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana provides a fixed pension of Rs 3,000 every month after the age of 60 years. Apart from this, through Kisan Credit Card, bank loan up to Rs 5 lakh is available for works like farming and animal husbandry. Farmers can apply for all these schemes as per their need and eligibility and can take full advantage of these excellent facilities of the government.
