Every search performed on Google and every activity related to your location gets saved to your account over time. As you use Google daily for various needs—big or small—this data accumulates continuously.

Google allows users to delete their saved Web Activity. Now, there is an option to have your search and location history deleted automatically after a set period. Let’s look at how to configure this setting.

To set up the auto-delete feature, first visit myaccount.google.com. Sign in with the Google account for which you wish to manage the history.

Once your Google account opens, click on the "Data & privacy" option in the menu on the left. Scroll down the page; you will see options related to "Web & App Activity" and "Location History."

Click on "Web & App Activity," then select "Manage activity." Here, you can view the search and app activity saved in your Google account.

If you want this data to be deleted automatically, click on the "Choose to delete automatically" option. Google offers three timeframes for auto-deletion: 3 months, 18 months, and 36 months. Select the duration that best suits your needs.

After selecting your preferred duration, click "Next" and then "Confirm" to save your settings. Google will then automatically delete your search and location history based on the chosen timeframe.

Even after setting up auto-delete, users can revisit these settings to make changes. Additionally, search and location history can still be deleted manually if required. The auto-delete feature within Google account settings allows you to determine how long your search and location history is retained. Once a timeframe is selected, there is no need to manually delete the history repeatedly.
