New Delhi: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert in many parts of the country for August 27 and instructed to be cautious. Due to the increasing activity of monsoon and the cyclonic circulation of upper air formed in different areas, the weather today is going to be very harsh. Active weather systems over north-eastern Assam and north-western Madhya Pradesh have intensified cloud movement, leading to thunderstorms and heavy rains from the plains to the mountains.
Torrential rain in 14 states
According to meteorologists, today there is an alert of torrential rain with thunderstorm in 14 major states of the country, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Wind speed can reach 70 to 80 kilometers per hour at some places. Along with this, there is a possibility of lightning and hailstorm in many areas.
Landslides in the mountains and the condition of the capital Delhi
The coming 10 hours are considered very sensitive for the Himalayan states. There is a possibility of heavy rain with high speed winds in Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Kinnaur, Solan and Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh. The temperature in Manali can drop to maximum 17 and minimum 9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the risk of landslides has increased with the rain in districts like Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Chamoli of Uttarakhand. In the country's capital Delhi today, winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and with rain, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34 and minimum 29 degrees Celsius.
Shadow of storm in more than 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh
Thunder will continue from western areas of Uttar Pradesh to Purvanchal. The direct impact of stormy rain can be seen in Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Agra, Mathura, Bahraich, Kanpur, Balrampur, Maharajganj, Deoria, Hamirpur, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Fatehpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Lalitpur and Mirzapur. Today's temperature in the capital Lucknow will be around 31 degrees maximum and 27 degrees minimum, where there are full chances of intermittent showers.
Winds will blow at a speed of 50 km in Bihar, many districts submerged
There is a strong possibility of heavy rain with winds of 50 km per hour in West and East Champaran, Gaya, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, Araria, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Khagaria and Begusarai. In the agricultural areas of Eastern India, the fear of damage to crops due to hailstorm, strong wind and lightning has deepened. Due to strong storm, crops standing in the fields may fall, while there is also a danger of lightning.
The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to avoid working in open fields during bad weather and take shelter in safe places. Apart from this, in view of the strong winds in the coastal areas of sea and rivers, fishermen have also been given strict instructions not to enter the water.
