Mumbai: A police officer who threatened students protesting in Mumbai against NEET exam rigging and police action during the protests in Delhi has been suspended. A video of this officer had gone viral on social media, in which he was seen threatening the students. This action has been taken after the matter heated up. The police officer had threatened that if the protest continued, he would implicate them in a fake case by placing drugs in their bags. For the last few days, many students and common citizens were protesting in important areas of the city like Shivaji Park, Chembur and Azad Maidan.

After the matter gained momentum, Mumbai Police ordered an investigation. In the statement issued by the police, it has been said that in view of such bad behavior and illegal threats, the concerned officer has been suspended from service. However, the police has not revealed the name of the officer. In the viral video, it is seen that an officer sitting in the front seat of the police van is threatening the students to go home and not come to the protest again. He is saying, "If I see you here again, I will ruin your life. I will put 50 grams of powder (drugs) in your bag, your life will end there." A student present in the van recorded the officer's entire conversation on his mobile phone, which later went viral.
