Bhopal. In Madhya Pradesh’s famous Twisha Sharma death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken major action and arrested retired District Judge Giribala Singh. The agency took this step after several hours of intensive interrogation, examination of scientific evidence and scene re-creation of the incident site. After this arrest, the stir in the judicial and political circles has intensified.

Arrest after high-tech investigation-
The special team of CBI had reached Giribala Singh’s residence in Bhopal in the morning itself. To strengthen the investigation, the agency had also brought with itself 3D laser scanners and high-tech visual cameras. The officials tried to re-understand the circumstances of that night by doing 3-D mapping of the incident site.

During interrogation, many contradictions came to light in the statements of Giribala Singh. After this the CBI took him into custody and formally arrested him.

Post mortem report changed the direction of investigation-
Initially the case was being treated as a suicide, but the post mortem report changed the direction of the investigation. Seven serious injury marks were found on Twisha Sharma’s body, which strengthened the possibility of physical conflict and violence.

Considering these facts as serious, Madhya Pradesh High Court had also adopted a strict stance. State Advocate General Prashant Singh had also said that everyone is equal before the law and the investigation will not be allowed to be affected.

Appear in court, CBI will ask for remand.
According to CBI sources, the arrest has been made due to sufficient evidence against Giribala Singh and non-cooperation as required in the investigation. After medical examination he will be produced in the special CBI court.

The agency may seek longer police remand from the court, so that possible other accused in the case, tampering of evidence and the entire incident can be investigated in depth.

The family expressed satisfaction-
Twisha Sharma’s family expressed satisfaction over this action and said that they hope that the CBI investigation will soon reveal the whole truth and the victim will get justice.
