The Gujarat Titans put in an all-round performance and ran away with the contest by 82 runs inflicting one of SRH's worst defeats in IPL 2026. Following their defeat BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla has hit out at SRH's batsmen for the suicidal approach to their run-chase.

GT put themselves into bat after winning the toss and managed to recover after losing a few early wickets to put on 168/5. Sai Sudharsan starred again with a controlled 61-ball innings while Washington Sundar added a crucial 50 not out to help his team reach the total in the middle order.

Despite it being a very chaseable total SRH failed with the bat and their typical big hitting backfired against a potent GT pace attack.

The pitch did have something for the seamers, with Gujarat picking out Siraj, Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, and Jason Holder, to lead their attack, and the SRH batsmen could not handle it.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were unable to ride out the early pressure, with Rabada sending Abhishek Sharma packing. He then had Ishan Kishan dismissed shortly after. Travis Head went for a duck thanks to Siraj, while Jason Holder ran through the middle-order removing Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Reddy and Shivang Kumar to shatter any chance SRH had of making a fight of it.

The entire SRH batting line collapsed for just 86 runs giving Gujarat Titans a massive victory and further asserting their dominance at the top of the IPL 2026 table.

And in the aftermath of the game, BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla slammed the SRH batsmen for carrying their ultra aggressive batting to a total that was far too easy to chase.
