Katy Perry had a playful response after her former boyfriend Josh Groban announced his engagement to British actor Natalie McQueen . The singer shared a TikTok on Monday that appeared to toast the couple while using her 2010 hit ‘ The One That Got Away ,’ a song long linked to Groban. Perry kept the post short, dramatic and tongue-in-cheek, but the clip quickly drew attention because of the history behind the track. According to The Independent, Perry’s TikTok opened with a screenshot of a news story about Groban’s and McQueen’s engagement. Perry, 41, then appeared in a white bathrobe with an exaggerated sad expression. She poured a bubbly drink into a glass, raised it to the couple, drank it, spilled some on her robe and pretended to cry before leaving the frame.

Katy Perry TikTok congratulates Josh Groban

Perry captioned the video with one word: “congrats.” The choice of music added the main twist. The clip used ‘The One That Got Away,’ a song fans have often believed Perry wrote about Groban after the two dated briefly in 2009. The ‘Firework’ singer helped fuel that theory in 2017 during a YouTube livestream. At the time, she referred to Groban as “the one that got away,” which surprised the singer and actor.
