Bengaluru: Body samples of 34-year-old Pooja Dutta from Jharkhand, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her rented house in Adugodi last month, have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
Pooja Dutta was working at a software company located on Hosur Road and was staying in a rented house in Munikrishnappa Layout in Adugodi. Police said she had not been going to work for the past few months and was staying at home.
On April 27, the house owner noticed a foul smell coming from her room and informed the police.
Police broke open the door and found her body in a half-nude condition. The body was later sent for postmortem examination. However, the exact cause of death could not be confirmed during the autopsy.
Officials have now sent body samples to the FSL for further examination. Police said the exact reason for the death will be known only after the forensic report is received.
Investigators also found that Pooja had not been moving around much during the last three months. Since she was not attending work, police are also investigating how she was managing her expenses and the source of her money.
Police are collecting details of her bank accounts as part of the investigation.
During inquiry with neighbours, police learned that Pooja was in a relationship with a man who used to visit her house frequently. The man has been questioned by the police.
Sources said a diary found at the spot has also been seized for investigation.
