After a warm weekend, blue skies and warmer temperatures will be no more, with maps showing when to expect the change. Clouds are expected to invade the UK with grey skies set to cover the skies from Tuesday.
The Met Office maps show that on Tuesday, April 28, the weather will take a turn. At 8am, the maps show nearly the whole of the UK to be covered by clouds. The only places that look set to avoid the cloudy skies are the Scottish Highlands and parts of Northern Ireland.
Another map shows temperatures will drop with the coldest area to be 9C in Manchester.
It will also be 9C in London with 10C in Cardiff and 11C in Plymouth.
In Scotland, Aberdeen will see 8C, and Glasgow will be 10C. In Northern Ireland it will be 10C in Belfast.
A forecast by the Met Office says that today, there will be a largely dry start for many, but it will be cloudy with rain in northern Scotland.
It adds that it will be warm and bright in the south at first, but clouding over in the afternoon as heavy showers move into the east, with a risk of thunder.
For tonight, it says: "Showers gradually clearing this evening, leaving cloudy skies for many. Cloud will be low and thick in the east, bringing drizzle, mist and fog in places."
For Tuesday, it adds: "A grey start for many with drizzly outbreaks at first. Cloud will slowly lift and break through the day to bring some brighter spells. Cooler than of late and breezy."
For Wednesday to Friday, it says it will be largely dry on Wednesday and Thursday with warm sunny spells, but breezy in the south. It says there will be an increasing chance of showers moving in from the west on Friday.
