Kanpur Silence Zone: 500 meter silence zone implemented around hospitals in Kanpur, now a fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed for breaking the no horn rule. The aim of this initiative is to reduce noise pollution and provide a peaceful environment to patients.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city and the noise of traffic, now a relieving news has come out from Kanpur. For the convenience of patients and to reduce noise pollution, the first 500 meter silence zone has been implemented in the city.

Under this new rule, if any driver blows the horn unnecessarily in this area, he will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000. The administration says that this step has been taken especially to provide peace to the patients admitted in hospitals.

Where has this silence zone been implemented?

This silence zone has been created on the road leading from Rawatpur crossing to Gol intersection. Especially the 500 meter area in front of GT Nursing Home has been identified. This scope includes big hospitals like Murarilal Chest Hospital and Cardiology Institute, where serious patients are treated.

Why was this decision necessary?

According to Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal, loud horn sound can be dangerous especially for patients suffering from heart and respiratory diseases. In such a situation, it is important to maintain a calm environment around the hospitals, so that it has a positive effect on the recovery of patients.

If rules are broken, immediate action

DCP Traffic Ravindra Kumar Singh has clearly said that 'No Horn' boards have been installed in this zone and police are deployed to enforce the rules. If any person is caught blowing the horn here, a challan of Rs 1000 will be issued on the spot.

Pilot project now, may be implemented in more places later

At present this silence zone has been started as a pilot project. If its impact is positive and people cooperate, then it can also be implemented in other sensitive areas of the city like schools and around other hospitals. The traffic department is also going to run an awareness campaign for this, so that people follow the rules wisely and not just out of fear.

What will change with this decision?

This initiative is not limited to just imposing fines. Its objective is to control the increasing noise pollution in the city and to provide a better environment to the patients. If people take this rule seriously, then in the coming times, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility can be created in many parts of the city, which has become the biggest need in today's times.
