Virat Kohli takes the internet by storm as he begins training for IPL 2026. On Wednesday, Virat Kohli took the internet by storm after sharing a reel of himself preparing for the upcoming IPL season. The video showed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star practising in the nets and quickly went viral on social media.


Earlier in the day, Kohli had shared the reel but later deleted it and re-shared it.


Netizens quickly noticed the move and began questioning him about it.

In the reel posted on Instagram, Kohli was seen training intensely during a practice session, focusing on his batting as he gears up for the new season. The former RCB captain appeared in full batting gear, settling into position before playing a range of strokes in the nets.


On March 8, broadcaster Star Sports confirmed that the upcoming IPL season will officially begin on March 28. However, the fixtures for the IPL 2026 edition are yet to be announced by the league.


RCB are the defending champions after defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final of the 2025 edition in Ahmedabad.


Earlier this month, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary Santosh Menon confirmed that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will host five of RCB’s home matches in IPL 2026. He also said that the venue will host the IPL 2026 final along with one of the playoff matches in the tournament.


The right-handed batter has amassed 8,661 runs in 267 matches and 259 innings in IPL history. Kohli has an average of 39.54 and a strike rate of 132.85. The former RCB captain has also smashed eight centuries and 63 half-centuries in the tournament.


In the 2025 edition, the veteran batter scored 657 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.75, playing a key role in helping Bengaluru lift their maiden IPL title. Kohli struck eight half-centuries and maintained an impressive strike rate of 144.71.
