Going to the toilet is a normal everyday process, but sometimes it can also be risky for health. A similar case came to light with a woman in Hong Kong, where excessive stress during constipation affected her memory.

According to the family, the woman was suffering from constipation for about two weeks. One day when she went to the toilet and pressed too hard, suddenly she forgot the things of the last 10 years. Seeing this the family members got scared and he was immediately taken to the hospital.

Memories returned in a few hours

The doctors' examination revealed that the woman's memory was temporarily affected. For about 8 hours he could not remember anything of the last 10 years. However, later his memories gradually returned. The interesting thing was that the woman had no memory of what happened during those 8 hours. Doctors described it as a temporary condition, which resolved on its own after some time.

According to experts, applying excessive force can reduce the blood flow to the brain for some time. This can lead to a condition called 'transient global amnesia', in which a person forgets their recent memories for a period of time. Doctors say that this condition is usually not dangerous and gets cured in a few hours, but it should not be ignored.

Why does this happen?

Straining increases pressure inside the body, especially on the chest and abdomen. This can affect the nerves and blood flow of the brain. In case of constipation, people exert more force, which can lead to this kind of problem.
