Crocodile Attack in Kendrapara District
Kendrapara: A tragic incident occurred in Kendrapara district, Odisha, where an 82-year-old man lost his life due to a crocodile attack on Tuesday, according to local officials.
The attack happened in Malatipatna village when Panchanan Das, who was tending to cattle, was seized by the crocodile in the Brahmani River.
Authorities later recovered his body from the river, which has been sent for a post-mortem examination, as stated by forest officer Bijoy Kumar Pradhan.
This unfortunate event took place outside the boundaries of the national park.
The family of the deceased will be eligible for compensation under an ex-gratia payment scheme once the post-mortem report is finalized, the forest officer confirmed.
