Rajesh Khanna's girlfriend Anita Advani reveals they fought often, once told him he could have a harem: 'He said, people get married four times, they have so many girlfriends'
Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna ’s personal life has always intrigued fans. He married Dimple Kapadia , who was half his age, in 1973, but the two separated within a few years when Dimple moved out with their daughters, Twinkle and Rinke. Years later, Rajesh ’s alleged girlfriend Anita Advani moved into his residence, and they lived together until his death in 2012.

In a new interview with YouTube channel Meri Saheli, Anita shared insights into her turbulent relationship with the late actor. She revealed that they often fought, and whenever she felt deeply offended, she would leave his house. Recalling one such incident, she said Rajesh once praised another woman in front of her, which left her furious.
“I said, ‘Okay then, you be with her’. He said, ‘I am just talking about her’ but I was extremely mad. He said, ‘People get married four times, they have so many girlfriends’. So I said, ‘Why girlfriends? You can have a harem. You can do whatever’. We fought a lot and I left,” Anita recalled.
Anita shared that the very next day, while she was attending an event, Rajesh called her repeatedly. “He said, ‘There has been some legal order about Ayodhya and things could get out of control, there could be riots, so you come back to the house now’. I said, ‘Then good riddance of bad rubbish. You have so many people to be with so why are you bothered about me?’ He said, ‘Don’t talk rubbish. If something happens to you, I will burn the world down’,” she said.
‘We got married privately’
In the same interview, Anita claimed she first met Rajesh when she was still in her teens and he was already a superstar. While Rajesh and Dimple never officially divorced, Anita alleged that she and the actor tied the knot privately.
“We got married privately, but in the film industry, no one talks about such things openly. Everyone says ‘we’re friends’ or ‘we’re in a relationship’ or something else. But it was already reported in the media that I was with him, so neither of us felt the need to go and publicly announce that we were married. We never felt that need,” she added.
