In the first match of the three-match T20 series played at the Silhat International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh defeated the Netherlands by 8 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Tuskin Ahmed’s brilliant bowling and captain Litton Das’s aggressive batting was the mainstay of this victory.
Batting first, the Netherlands did not start well. Taskin Ahmed, with his sharp bowling, pushed the two openers Max O’ -Dow (23 runs 15 balls) and Vikramjit Singh (4 runs 11 balls) to the pavilion to pushed the Netherlands on the backfoot. Captain Scott Edwards (12 runs 7 balls) and Teja Nidamanuru (26 runs 26 balls) tried to handle the innings, but Bangladeshi bowlers continued to strike.
The Netherlands could reach 136/8 in 20 overs. Taskin Ahmed performed brilliantly with 4 wickets, while the rest of the bowlers also bowled tightly.
The Bangladeshi team started chasing the target. However, Aryan Dutt gave the Netherlands a little hope by taking the wickets of Pervez Amman (15 runs) and Tim Pringal Tanjid Hasan (29 runs). But captain Litton Das started batting stormy as soon as he arrived.
Litton Das played an unbeaten innings of (54 runs 29 balls) and along with Saif Hasan (36*) easily conveyed the team to the target. Bangladesh won the match by 8 wickets in just 13.3 overs. With this victory, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
