Ride-hailing platform Uber has resumed its bike taxi services, Bike Direct, in Bengaluru, days after Rapido restarted its services.
Rapido launched its zero-profit bike taxi facilitator, aiming to support riders without taking any share of the returns, as reported by ET on August 25.
Uber resumed its bike services in Bengaluru on Friday. It currently operates the services as 'Bike Direct,' changed from the earlier name 'Uber Moto.'

This comes after the Karnataka High Court's clarification on August 22 that the court did not issue any orders during the bike taxi hearing on August 20, allowing them to operate in the state.
Queries sent to Uber did not elicit a response.

Karnataka has around 600,000 gig workers who are engaged in multiple forms of services in the major cities of the state.
The next hearing in the case takes place on September 22. However, bike taxi drivers in the state are not confident about taking rides, as the court is yet to pass an order in the case.
"The auto drivers have already started stopping the riders on the roads since the judgment is pending in the court," Mohammed Salim, president of the Bike Taxi Association, told ET. "There is uncertainty in the minds of riders; people are worried they will be stopped on the roads."
